I have a few epubs that have some colored text or boxes around the text that all just get formatted to whatever textcolor the Stylesheet i use (white in dark mode / black in white mode for example), and the stories lose the unique style the epub has included. (For AO3 users it would be the workskins) Kindle shows the custom colors, so it’s not a problem with the epub file. I have no clue if this is complicated to include, but would be very nice, thank you!

Is it at all possible to have an option to setup scrolling without having to swipe through chapters so that it is completely continuous. Kind of like scrolling in the kindle/Apple Books IOS app

It would be great to have a built-in translation option for imported EPUB books. Users could select their preferred language and translate the entire book while keeping the original chapters, formatting and metadata intact. Ideally, the translated version could be saved within JustRead so the book only needs to be translated once, rather than translating individual passages every time it is opened. An option to switch between the original and translated text would also be useful. This would make JustRead much more accessible for readers who own books in different languages, especially when a book isn’t available in their preferred language or when they want to use JustRead’s accessibility and typography settings instead of another reading app.

Summary A customizable "Auto-Replace" or "Personal Glossary" tool to automatically fix recurring translation errors or culturally untranslatable terms upon opening or rendering a book. 1. The Problem When reading translated books, there are recurring translation errors, inconsistent character names, or culturally untranslatable terms that are localized poorly. Repetitive errors break reading immersion. Running a manual "Find and Replace" tool for dozens of different terms every time a new book is opened is highly tedious. 2. The Proposed Solution Implement a feature allowing users to create a persistent, customizable list of "Find and Replace" rules that the app automatically applies to text. When a document is opened, or dynamically as the text renders on the screen, the app should automatically swap the targeted words with the user's defined corrections or remove the word completely.

Please add a random sorting or shuffling option to the library view (or a dedicated "Random Book" suggestion button).

It would be nice if I could change the pronounciation of a word by selevting the word or phrase and then had a menu point under Copy/Translate/… That brings me instantly to the menu for corrections, instering the selected word or phrase into the right field. Also, it would be great if the Preview for the new pronounciation was in the right langaugue. If I correct an english word, its not great if the german voice reads it aloud for me to see if the pronounciation is right.

I’d love to be able to add the paper books I have at home to justRead, so my whole library, digital and physical, lives in one place. The idea: create a record for each paper book by scanning its barcode (ISBN) with the camera, or by searching for it online by title or author, so the cover, author, publisher and year fill in automatically. Each record would show whether the book is in paper, digital or both, and could be marked as read or in progress and included in the reading stats. That way justRead would be not only the best reader, but also the catalogue of all my books. Thanks for the app!

If I’m going back and forth between reading a digital print and listening to an audio version of the same book, combine the two for purposes of reading time and wrap totals.

Some books can have really long chapter (sub-)headings (like a whole paragraph of text) that can look very strange without hyphenation. It would be nice to have the option to hyphenate headings as well as the body text. (Alternatively the Reader could implement the entity, which currently just leads to a parsing error.)

Please add a setting to disable automatic tags for books, mainly because it usually adds a bunch of nonsense and random numbers as tags

Instead of using the KOSync percentage it would be nice if for EPUBs the new system was used which guarantees precision across devices.

I read primarily on e-ink devices. Ultimately I’m looking for a way to integrate my reading stats into one dashboard view. Regular exports in JSON or CSV could work…..
